I’m back from Oslo!
Oslo has to be one of the best places I’ve ever visited in my life: I could definitely see myself living there. The atmosphere of the city is just so positive, it’s so easy to get around and everyone we met was happy to help when we got lost.
We set off on Wednesday afternoon and didn’t reach our apartment until midnight local time, but the apartment alone was well all the traveling. On Thursday my mum, Sarah and I went to the biathlon in Holmenkollen where we stood near a particularly vibrant bunch of women who had drums and ripped our hats off when the national anthem started. Friday and Saturday were a mishmash of cultural exploration, hot chocolates and shopping. Highlights include a fantastic comic book store named Outland, seeing Munch’s Scream when we finally found the National Gallery and the Viking Ship Museum in Bygdøy, although there’s a serious lack of Norse gods.
