I have about seven hours of being a teenager left. I really think I took my teenage years for granted, having only ever really planned my life up to the age of sixteen, and kind of made it up as I went along ever since.
This is what I looked like three years ago today, when I was sixteen and having my pictures so bright I didn’t have a nose was a thing apparently:
To commemorate the end of seven years being a stroppy, whiney, unstable nob, and actually quite boring, here are some things that i’ve done:
-
Travelled to Ithaca, New York during which I spent a week with the loveliest family I’ve ever had the courtesy of knowing. We then travelled to Manhatten, which is one of my favourite places in the world, even if the hostel was full of very rude, shower stealing people.
These are probably all Rosy’s photos. Hai girl hai.
- I also travelled to Germany, France, Monaco, Cuba, Holland, Lanzarote, Italy, Cyprus, Egypt and probably some other places I can’t remember.
- At thirteen, I went to my first festival; Download and I am still happy to this day I survived.
- The first time I tried vodka, I ended up in A&E.
- Actually succeeded at things and now have sixteen qualifications.
- Did not succeed in my driving lessons and at one point had to drive on the sidewalk for ten minutes around trees because I drove up a bus route.
- Got very drunk some more times and ended up in an almost two year long relationship I’m still in.
He is thrilled about it.
- Decided to go to university - well I say university; an Art and Design school where they do degrees, to become a journalist.
- Moved out with one of my best friends and my favourite not-quite-Geordie in the world.
- Met Derren Brown.
- Someone finally realised I didn’t like cake and got me a birthday cookie, which was wonderful.
- Met Josh, my favourite human being as he is the Fievel to my Meiko.
- I seem to recall playing SingStar a whole fucking lot.
- Had weekly skip sixth form, get sandwiches and watch Jeremy Kyle times with April. Which is probably why we were a bit rubbish at Psychology and I ultimately failed.
- Won an inflatable Crash Bandicoot that I never saw again.
- Had surgery and discovered I’d had a twig in my hand for five years.
- SiobhanShockhorror.
- Really odd pictures I don’t remember, such as:
It’s file name is “Zultron”? I think it’s an apple?
I’m pretty sure in seven years I have done other things, however there are no pictures of those so I don’t remember them. So is the teenage memory.
