Schofield Stockholm Syndrome.

If there’s anything worse than the stress of being a student, it’s the three month period in between years when you’re broke and living back with your parents.

I have finally, completely and utterly ran out of money. This means I’ve had to end my sixteen weekend streak of socialising. I’m aware that I probably sound like a complete dick because there are worse things in the world than sitting day after day in your mother’s house applying for dozens of jobs - of which I have only had one call back and that was to become an escort. But after two months it has become a bit soul destroying. I realised the other day when my boyfriend had left town for five days and almost everyone who is willing to be seen in public with me was either away or working, that I have become one of those people.

These people I refer to are, specifically within my age group and situation, hopefully only stuck in this rut temporarily. We know the entire daytime telly schedule and the programmes that we want to watch and how we can structure them into a timetable for optimum viewing capacity, for example. And for a while I didn’t mind or even completely realise it. However, last week I was watching ITV2 + 1 (so I can watch Desperate Housewives on E4) and there was a Jeremy Kyle show I’d already seen; and I genuinely became irritated by it. What was I going to watch for an hour now? WHY CAN’T THEY SHOW OLD ONES BECAUSE PEOPLE HAD CLEARLY WATCHED THIS EPISODE A FORTNIGHT AGO? And BAM. I’m a daytime telly obsessed, six cups of coffee pre - five o’clock and three teas after, when the fuck is there a new episode of Geordie Shore on, have I already sorted through my wardrobe today and why are there only jobs described as “EARN EXTRA MONEY!!” person. One advantage to this is that I have time for my love for Holly Willoughby to truly flourish, but that’s worrying within itself as I think it’s more Stockholm Syndrome than admiration.

I have even gone through photos from when I was little. I’m the lefty one.

I get dragged on ten mile walks.

We found a rabbit at 1am in the morning, in a storm on a main road. So we caught him and when the owners wouldn’t answer their door he came and lived in my bath until they came and got him.

I went and saw Avenue Q and it was AMAZING.

I was as ginger as my mother’s eyebrows were huge.
