I know half of the population with the divine gift of internet connection has discussed this at some point in their lives, and you know, I hate to feel left out. I am nineteen, and therefore I am in what I presume is the idiotic target demographic for social media. You’d think I’d be drowning in status updates full of “lol”s, and tweets you couldn’t care less about. And actually I am guilty of the latter. The problem is, the fistful of arseholes I have on Facebook must honestly be the most boring people on earth.
Why can’t people share interesting things? there should be a law against informing people how nice your dinner was, which lyrics of that song relates most to your tormented teenage life or why you’re angry at some other boring moron. in fact, why not make a government funded corporation? The association against social media dullness. i’m aware the majority of us are actually that shallow that posting these things, and getting ‘likes’ fills us with self-worth and that warm goo-ey ‘people like, they really like me’ mentality. however, taking that into account, why not lie? Why not tell people escalating lies of all the exciting things you clearly haven’t done. isn’t telling people you’re backpacking on venus with a tribe of native americans dressed as star wars characters far more interesting than telling me how nice your spaghetti was for tea?
