September is always the busiest month of the year for me because for some reason (I’m putting my money on New Year’s Eve) everyone I know happens to be born in September! Both go my Siblings, one of my best friends and my boyfriend are all born within ten days of each other so there’s been birthday cakes, dinners, wrapping paper and ping pong balls (my brother got a ping pong table for his birthday) flying everywhere. So I’d just like to say Happy Birthday to Isobel, Jacob, Ben and Alex, and any other Virgo’s knocking about!
Now, why am I rambling about birthday’s? Well, because to celebrate my sister’s eighth birthday her mum/ my lady-dad took us both to London for the weekend, and it was fantastic!
London
We stayed in Waterloo just around the corner from The London Eye, The London Dungeon and all of those wonderfully weird attractions on South Bank. We spent an entire day wandering from The Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square and Downing Street on the Saturday. On the night - despite the fact we’d all had to sit soaking our feet in the bath for half an hour - we marched on and went to the theatre on Drury Lane to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which was magical - though disappointingly devoid of real chocolate. Lastly, on Sunday we went on the London Eye and discovered just how much we’d actually walked the day before which was about two miles but had felt like 50. I also got to go to Camden Market which I’ve always wanted to go to! The best thing of all though is that Isobel really enjoyed herself, look how cute she is!
The Eagles, Birthdays & A Hamster In A Teapot
Though my sister decided on London for her Birthday, my brother decided on a slightly less extravagant outing and we went to a nightclub here in Hull called ‘Sugar Mill’. It was a bit awful. My grandparents also took us to see a tribute band named ‘The Illegal Eagles’ which was far more enjoyable, so I’ve decided to accept the fact I’m just an old person now. September also means that summer is finally over! Autumn is slowly coming into fruition and I love it! No more overwhelming heat, no more tanning, no more dresses: just boots, layers, tea, candles, and perhaps my favourite of all baths! Speaking of which, I bought quite a lot of Rock & Relax products earlier this month and highly recommend them! Particularly the face masks and bath bombs.Lastly, my robo dwarf hamster Anya is still alive thankfully, despite the fact she’s absolutely bonkers! She now stays awake all day running in her wheel, she is very friendly and brave around humans and she somehow managed to escape from her hamster ball one night. My brother and I had to then spend an hour running around the back room trying to trap her in tupperware. The hamster above isn’t actually Anya, it’s actually a hamster from my local pet store but he looked so cute in his teapot. This is Anya:
She really likes doing backflips.
