I have a confession: I hate Christmas songs. Now, before you sacrifice your computer to Santa - via throwing it in a vat of hot chocolate I imagine - let me explain. When my brother and I were little we’d listen to tapes to help us sleep, one of said tapes was a Christmas playlist. It wasn’t a compilation of fun Christmas songs or N*Sync’s Christmas album: it was filled with those haunting, horrible choir songs sang by creepy children. I hated that tape with a passion, but my brother liked it so I’d find myself winding the tape back with a pencil in the middle of May so he could listen to it for the 2323 time that year. I hated it.
This year I thought I’d find a collection of Christmas songs that don’t make me want to hide under a blanket or smash tape players up: the good Christmas songs. The Christmas songs that make me feel festive and fun!
